We love to take our two cats camping! Our cat, Snuggles, decided to take us on a walk through the woods and to the beach. He sure loves exploring on his harness and leash! Next, we go on a little hike on the Bear Lake Trail, right across the road from McLain State Park Campground. Later, we explore more of the campground, and even find some camping cabins and unique tenting sites overlooking Lake Superior. Then we end the day with yet another BEAUTIFUL sunset and a campfire. Stay tuned for part 5 to come out soon!

Come along as Ron and I (Tammy) venture out of the campground for a day of exploring in the Keweenaw Peninsula to see more of the beautiful fall colors! We go through Copper Harbor and see the lighthouse there, and then go on to Fort Wilkins State Park to check out the fort and campgrounds. We then take an AMAZING fall color drive up Brockway Mountain Drive and see some gorgeous views. On the way back, we see another lighthouse in Eagle River, and then stop at Eagle Harbor at the Jampot, where monks from a nearby monastery sell delicious treats and jams. Back at the McLain State Park campground, we take in one of the most beautiful, colorful sunsets we have ever seen, with the lighthouse in the foreground. It was an awesome day!

After a rainy night and morning at the campground, Ron and I (Tammy) go on a walk in the park along the trail that leads from McLain State Park Campground to the swimming beach (Lake Superior) and dog beach. It's about a 1/2 mile walk, and we see lots of nature along the way! Fall is sure a beautiful time to visit the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We end the day with a grilled burger meal and a crackling campfire. Stay tuned for part 3 to come out soon!
