Juneau, Alaska- the state capital is a beautiful town, nestled in the mountains and on the water. In this video, we take you along on an amazing shore excursion that we purchased through Princess Cruise Lines. First, we go to a salmon hatchery and learn all about the life cycle of salmon. We even get to see some coming "home" to spawn, as they climbed the fish ladder... they were HUGE!!! Next, we went to Mendenhall Glacier and had some wonderful views of the glacier on this beautiful day. They have an awesome visitor center with lots of displays and spacious indoor and outdoor viewing areas. We even took a hike to Nugget Falls there to see a huge waterfall. Last, but definitely not least, was a salmon bake that we got to attend. The all-you-can-eat buffet with fresh glazed salon was amazing! Lots of food, and entertainment in just gorgeous surroundings. There, we also took a short hike to see another waterfall and old mine. Back in Juneau, we explore the downtown area and some of the shops, before returning to the ship for an amazing sail-away with whale sightings! What an amazing day!
